When the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler arrived on a planet that was somehow orbiting a black hole, they found a research base clinging to its desolate surface. The station’s human crew were struggling with one hell of a problem – could the ancient entity stirring beneath the planet’s surface really be the Devil?
The creature was woken by the humans’ drilling and wasted no time in plotting an escape from it's prison. Although it was bound in chains, the Beast could project its intelligence into the minds of others and soon turned to the base’s workforce of Ood into killers. The Doctor eventually sent it spinning into the black hole, but the Beast lives on throughout the cosmos as a mythical figure: the embodiment of evil in the histories of a million worlds.
