Sheltering in the ruins of a long-dead civilisation on the planet Malcassairo, the Doctor, Martha and Captain Jack encountered the Futurekind in the year One Hundred Trillion – a time when all the stars had burnt out. The primitive people’s origins were shrouded in mystery, but it was feared they might be the final result of human evolution.
No one knows what happened to the creatures once the human’s rocket took off for Utopia. The newly reborn Master allowed them access to the Silo but, once the Doctor and his friends travelled back through time, the Futurekind were stranded on a world with no food or light and an atmospheric shell that would slowly freeze them to death as it disintegrated... At least they didn’t end up as the deadly Toclafane!
