Hailing from Raxacoricofallapatorius, the Slitheen clan were considered criminals by other members of their race. The Ninth Doctor first faced them when they tried to start a nuclear war on Earth, with the intention of selling the radioactive remains of the planet as fuel for spacecrafts. They posed as important humans by wearing suits made from their victim’s skins. A compression field allowed the Slitheen to squeeze their vast bodies into these disguises – but the released of smelly gas caused by this process raised more than a few eyebrows!
The plan was defeated when the Doctor arranged a missile strike on Downing Street, but one Slitheen escaped! Posing as Cardiff Mayor Margaret Blaine, this Slitheen tried to explode the planet. The Doctor exposed the plot and captured Margaret, then the TARDIS regressed her back to a harmless egg.
