The twisted creator of the Daleks was thought to have died in the Last Great Time War...
Creating the Daleks was a labour of love for Davros, chief scientist of the Kaled Scientific Elite. He realised that everyone on Skaro would mutate because of all the radiation, and chemical pollution caused by their long war. Above all else, Davros was determined that the Kaleds would survive.
For fifty years he researched what the final mutant form would be – and altered it so it didn’t know good and evil but would think itself superior to everything else. The Fourth Doctor thought he’d finished with Davros, but the Doctor would face the Daleks’ creator in each of his next three incarnations – ever time uncovering a scheme more diabolical and insane than the last. As Davros battled both his own creations and his time Lord for through time and space, he gradually lost more and more of his mind (and body!), always striving to regain power over the Daleks. This was an era of firsts, with Davros creating a range of new monsters, from the Glass Dalek and the Special Weapons Daleks to his Imperial troops, clad in white and gold. He even visited Earth! After the Doctor tracked his friends and planet Earth to a distant region of space, he heard the voice of a man he thought was long dead: Davros! The “Lord and creator of the Daleks” was supposed to have died in the first year of the Time War. The Doctor was shocked to discover that Dalek Cann has rescued him, and that Davros had created a new race of ‘pure’ Daleks from his skin cells. Davros had also built a Reality Bomb, intent on destroying every single thing in existence, but allowing his dreadful creations to be the only survivors...
